Nova Scotia Health Card Online Application: If you’re looking to register for a health card in Nova Scotia, you’ll need to get in touch with the MSI Registration and Inquiries Department by calling either 902-496-7008 or 1-800-563-8880 (toll-free within Canada). It’s important to note that blank applications are not available.

Nova Scotia Health Card Online Application: The application process involves an individual assessment, and you’ll need to provide proof of citizenship or immigration documentation*. Once your application is processed, you’ll receive a health card for each member of your family. Remember to present your health card to healthcare providers before receiving any insured health services.

Nova Scotia Health Card Document Requirements

List of acceptable documents for proof of Canadian Citizenship:

  • Canadian birth certificate
  • Valid Canadian passport (or one that has not expired for more than five years)
  • Canadian Citizenship Card or Certificate (both sides)
    nexus card
  • ‘Registration of Birth Abroad
  • Baptismal certificate showing when and where the person was born in Canada
    Canadian military id
  • RCMP ID Card
  • Along with this, Canadian Old Age Security (OAS), proof of date of birth will also have to be given.
